— About me, my photoclasses, social media, and how to get in touch
THEY CALL ME LOMOVERA. I LIKE TELLING STORIES.
My name is Vera Gotseva, but some of you may know me as Lomovera. I grabbed a pen when I was a year old, and a film camera when I was three. Later, I began to read Isaac Asimov. This apparently was destiny because as an adult I work as a journalist and a photographer, and science and technology are my passions. They led me to work in various fields like digital advertising and projects, such as the annual Sofia Science Festival. My biggest loves, however, are photography and storytelling.
Over the past 20 years of my life I have been interested in words and images. For the past 15 years I have been actively contributing to the most prominent lifestyle magazines in Bulgaria. Nine years ago, I started taking pictures with a variety of cameras, exploring moments of a reality that I see, trying to keep them still forever through the use of my camera. I’ve been lucky enough to have been given the chance to show my work in a couple of exhibitions. I’ve spent the past two years as editor-in-chief of Photomania, Bulgaria’s leading photography magazine. Lately, I’ve been busy traveling often, taking photos , and connecting them in visual storytelling. For two years already I'm leading the one and only smartphone photography classes on the road. I'm travel with my student in the different parts of Bulgaria. I'm also leading public lectures of photography, classes of physiological photography and art therapy.
Apart from the photographs published on this site, I have done visual identity for commercial clients, as well as individual portraits or series of photographs. My photos have been published in the Huffington Post, Der Spiegel, Granta, Capital light, Programata and many others.
Thanks for dropping by.
